The Rebels improved to 7-0 to start the season and 2-0 in PAC conference play with a 15-5 win over Tell City on Saturday in 6 innings.
South Spencer Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Tell City
South Spencer grabbed an early lead on its way to a 15-5 victory over Tell City on Saturday. South Spencer scored on a double by Sammy Rowan, a single by Caleb Helms, a triple by Dalton Schneider, and a triple by Mattew Bunch in the first inning.
South Spencer earned the victory despite allowing Tell City to score three runs in the fourth inning. Tell City’s big inning was driven by a single by Bryson Naviaux.
South Spencer took an early lead in the first inning. Sammy Rowan drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.
Caleb Helms earned the win for South Spencer. He went three innings, allowing one run, four hits, striking out six, and walking zero. Preston Hendershot took the loss for Tell City. He tossed one and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs, six hits, and striking out two.
Manning Webb started the game for South Spencer. He threw three innings, surrendering three runs, two hits, and striking out three.
South Spencer had 14 hits in the game. Dylan Kelly, Brice Stuteville, Rowan, Mattew Bunch, and Dalton Schneider each collected multiple hits for South Spencer. Schneider, Helms, and Stuteville each drove in two runs to lead South Spencer. South Spencer was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Matthew Embry had the most chances in the field with ten.
