South Spencer Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Evansville Reitz
South Spencer and Evansville Reitz traded the lead back-and-forth on Monday, but eventually South Spencer prevailed 9-6. South Spencer took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at six with South Spencer batting in the bottom of the fifth when Mattew Bunch doubled off of Paulin, driving in three runs.
South Spencer collected 11 hits and Evansville Reitz had six in the high-scoring affair
Evansville Reitz took an early lead in the second inning. Hancock singled on a 2-1 count in the second inning, scoring two runs.
Manning Webb earned the win for South Spencer. He threw three innings, giving up two runs, one hit, and striking out two. Tenhunberg took the loss for Evansville Reitz. He went four and a third innings, surrendering six runs, six hits, and striking out two.
Caleb Helms started the game for South Spencer. He threw four innings, allowing four runs, five hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Webb, Sammy Rowan, Dylan Kelly, and Dalton Schneider each collected multiple hits for South Spencer. Schneider, Kelly, Rowan, and Webb each collected two hits to lead South Spencer.
Euler and Hazlett each collected multiple hits for Evansville Reitz.
