South Spencer High School
The boys lost a heart breaker to the Northeast Dubois Jeeps by a score of 5-2. The Rebels came out flat in the back allowing a goal within the first 5 minutes of play. The Rebels would have several chances in the first half but could never connect on the final pass. The Jeeps were able to get two more goals before halftime.
At the half the Rebel coach challenged his Seniors to pick up the tempo. The Rebels came out and dominated in every aspect of the game for the first 25 minutes of the 2nd half. The high pressure led to a goal scored by Senior Collin Stewart with the assist from Johnson and Durnil. With 10 minutes into the game Justin DeFur would find Hunter Harrison through the hair who headed the ball home to make the score 3-2 Jeeps. The assist by DeFur made him the all time leading assist man in school history. The Rebels kept the pressure going and had 6 more opportunities at goal. Lucas Felver nearly tied the game with a run from midfield hitting the post on his shot. The Jeeps were able to get their 4th goal and tack on another late ending the Rebels season.
The Rebels finished with a record of 6-9-2 (3-4) PAC. This is the first time in the last 7 years the Boys team has finished with a sub .500 record. Shout out to the Seniors for all of their hard work and dedication to the Rebel Soccer Program. Also thanks to the students and Fans who came out this Season to support both the Girls and Boys Soccer teams.
The coaches would like to thank the administration, school board, community, AEP, and the players for their support this season.
