The Rebels are 2A sectional champs…..again!!!

Rowan Throws Shutout As South Spencer Defeats Evansville Mater Dei and Wins The Sectional!!

Sammy Rowan didn’t allow a single run as South Spencer defeated Evansville Mater Dei 10-0 on Monday. Rowan allowed just two hits and induced a groundout from Nick Will to end the game.

South Spencer secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the second inning. South Spencer’s big inning was driven by a single by Jacob Lindsey, a single by Matthew Embry, a single by Manning Webb, a single by Sammy Rowan, a groundout by Caleb Helms, and a error.

A triple by Adam Wilderman in the first inning was a positive for Evansville Mater Dei.
Rowan earned the win for South Spencer. He went five innings, surrendering zero runs, two hits, striking out four, and walking zero. Isaac Adler took the loss for Evansville Mater Dei. He tossed one and one-third innings, surrendering six runs, and three hits.
South Spencer collected seven hits. Rowan and Lindsey each collected multiple hits for South Spencer. Lindsey and Rowan each managed two hits to lead South Spencer.
Wilderman went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Evansville Mater Dei in hits.

The Rebels are sectional champs for the 3rd straight year. They will play in the Clarksville-Providence Regional on Saturday, June 3rd against Linton-Stockton in the first semifinal game starting at 10:00 a.m. CST with the second semifinal to follow between Austin and Providence . If victorious they will advance to the championship game at 7:00 p.m. CST. All games will be played at Our Lady of Providence High School Baseball Field in Clarksville, IN

South Spencer Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Forest Park.
South Spencer defeated Forest Park 9-1 thanks to a strong start. South Spencer scored on a fielder’s choice by Caleb Helms in the first inning, a single by Mattew Bunch in the first inning, a single by Brice Stuteville in the first inning, a double by Matthew Embry in the first inning, and a triple by Sammy Rowan in the second inning.
South Spencer secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. South Spencer scored on a fielder’s choice by Caleb Helms, a single by Mattew Bunch, a single by Brice Stuteville, and a double by Matthew Embry.
South Spencer took an early lead in the first inning. Helms hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
Helms earned the win for South Spencer. He went six innings, surrendering one run, four hits, striking out six, and walking zero. Reid Brown took the loss for Forest Park. He tossed six innings, giving up nine runs, ten hits, striking out two, and walking one.
South Spencer had ten hits in the game. Sammy Rowan and Embry each collected multiple hits for South Spencer. Embry and Rowan each managed two hits to lead South Spencer. South Spencer was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Bunch made the most plays with eight.
Forest Park was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Aaron Hurst had the most chances in the field with eight.

South Spencer Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Tell City.
South Spencer grabbed an early lead on its way to a 9-1 victory over Tell City on Wednesday. South Spencer scored on a double by Sammy Rowan and a single by Mattew Bunch in the first inning.
South Spencer captured the lead in the first inning. Sammy Rowan drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.
South Spencer scored four runs in the sixth inning. South Spencer’s big inning was driven by a single by Caleb Helms, a double by Dalton Schneider, and a walk by Jacob Lindsey.
Rowan earned the win for South Spencer. He threw five innings, surrendering one run, five hits, and striking out nine. Helms threw one inning, as two relievers helped South Spencer finish off the victory. Ryan Morgan took the loss for Tell City. He went four and a third innings, surrendering five runs, ten hits, striking out two, and walking one.
South Spencer collected 13 hits. Helms, Rowan, Mattew Bunch, Dylan Kelly, and Schneider each collected multiple hits for South Spencer. Schneider, Kelly, Bunch, Rowan, and Helms each managed two hits to lead South Spencer. South Spencer didn’t commit a single error in the field. Matthew Embry had 16 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Travis Burchett went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Tell City in hits.

South Spencer Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Evansville Harrison.
South Spencer took the lead for good in the fifth inning to capture a back-and-forth game from Evansville Harrison by a 14-4 score on Monday. The game was tied at four with South Spencer batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jacob Lindsey singled off of #33, driving in one run.
Evansville Harrison scored three runs in the fifth inning, but South Spencer still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Evansville Harrison came thanks to a double by Michael Milner, a double by Aaron Beck, and a single by Reed Raibley.
Zeke Donnelly earned the win for South Spencer. He threw one and one-third innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out one, and walking zero.
Chase Howell started the game for South Spencer. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, six hits, and striking out one.
South Spencer collected 12 hits. Jacob Lindsey, Sammy Rowan, Dylan Kelly, and Dalton Schneider each collected multiple hits for South Spencer. Lindsey went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead South Spencer in hits.

Jasper Captures Lead Early To Defeat South Spencer.
South Spencer fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-2 loss to Jasper on Wednesday. Jasper took the lead on a home run in the first inning.
Jasper captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored three runs for Jasper.
Reece Kleinhelter earned the win for Jasper. He pitched seven innings, surrendering two runs, six hits, and striking out four. Caleb Helms took the loss for South Spencer. He went six innings, allowing seven runs, 11 hits, striking out one, and walking zero.
Sammy Rowan and Mattew Bunch each drove in one run to lead South Spencer.
Jasper collected 11 hits. Austin Simmers, Evan Aders, Jarod Semmersheim, and Justin Pershon each collected multiple hits for Jasper. Simmers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Jasper in hits. Jasper didn’t commit a single error in the field. Trevor Krapf had the most chances in the field with six.

South Spencer Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Floyd Central
South Spencer took the lead late and defeated Floyd Central 8-5 on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with South Spencer batting in the bottom of the fifth when Braydon Edwards walked Dalton Schneider to drive in a run.
Floyd Central scored four runs in the seventh inning, but South Spencer still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Floyd Central came thanks to a single by Dalton Drexler, a walk by Alex Lozado, and a walk by Max Baumann.
