The 8th grade boys stayed perfect in conference play after defeating the Patriots in a very competitive game in Reo. The Rebels started slow and played sluggish in the first half and most of the 3rd quarter. The boys were able to get the offense rolling a little in the 4th quarter but with about 2 seconds left, the Rebels were down by 3. After a timeout, Cale Donoho got free and knocked down a corner 3 pointer at the buzzer to force OT. The Rebels were able to carry that emotional high into the 4 minute overtime period and were able to outscore the Patriots 13-3. The boys went 8 for 8 from the free throw line in OT to secure the win. Landon Wells led all scores with 16 points, Cale Donoho added 9, Nathan Hurt added 7, and Kaydin Duvall chipped in 6.
In the B game, the Rebels lost 24-29. The boys played hard but costly turnovers and poor free throw shooting cost the Rebels the game. Jackson Lashley led the team with 7 points, Daylen Kennedy added 5, and the Shoulders twins each chipped in 4.
The boys have another home game this Thursday against College View. The 7th grade plays first at 5:30 with the 8th grade game to follow.
