Hancock County Almost Erases 8-Run Deficit In Loss To South Spencer Rebels Varsity

South Spencer Rebels Varsity got out to an eight-run lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 9-7 victory over Hancock County on Tuesday. Hancock County scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by J White in the sixth, a groundout by Lamar in the sixth, a single by Axton in the seventh, a double by Dixon in the seventh, and a error in the seventh.
Hancock County scored four runs in the seventh inning, but South Spencer Rebels Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Hancock County came thanks to a single by Axton, an error on a ball put in play by Lamar, and a double by Dixon.
South Spencer Rebels Varsity scored five runs in the fifth inning. Dalton Bartlett, Darian Johnson, Brendon Moore, and Aiden Midkiff all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Johnson was the winning pitcher for South Spencer Rebels Varsity. He surrendered seven runs on seven hits over six and a third innings, striking out four and walking one. Andrew Hagan threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
C White toed the rubber for Hancock County. He went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one. Singleton and Thomas entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.
South Spencer Rebels Varsity collected 13 hits on the day. Johnson and Moore each racked up multiple hits for South Spencer Rebels Varsity. Moore and Johnson each collected three hits to lead South Spencer Rebels Varsity.
Hancock County saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Bloom and Dixon all managed multiple hits for Hancock County.
