South Spencer Rebels Varsity Falls To Ev. North After Seventh Inning Score
Wednesday’s game against Ev. North was a heartbreaker for South Spencer Rebels Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 9-5 defeat. The game was tied at five with Ev. North batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored two runs for Ev. North.
In the first inning, South Spencer Rebels Varsity got their offense started when Caige Hughes doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Devlin VanBibber was on the pitcher’s mound for Ev. North. He went three and a third innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
Kobe Bartlett toed the rubber for South Spencer Rebels Varsity. He went six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out one. Ryan Stuteville and Andrew Hagan entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.
South Spencer Rebels Varsity collected nine hits on the day. Bartlett and Hughes each collected multiple hits for South Spencer Rebels Varsity. Bartlett went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead South Spencer Rebels Varsity in hits.
Ev. North tallied ten hits on the day. Alex Archuleta, Payne Collins, Jon Newton, and Nate Toone all collected multiple hits for Ev. North. Archuleta led Ev. North with three hits in three at bats. Ev. North didn’t commit a single error in the field. Seth Seniour had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
