Lady Rebels Blows Out Southridge
Lady Rebels coasted to an easy victory over Southridge 8-1 on Monday
Southridge got on the board in the second inning when Lauren Springer doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Lady Rebels pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third AJ Middleton singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Averi Myers singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Cassidy Cook singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Emilee Schulte singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Samantha Helms was credited with the victory for Lady Rebels. She surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Briley King took the loss for Southridge. She lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out one.
Lady Rebels scattered 11 hits in the game. Cook, Middleton, and Schulte each collected multiple hits for Lady Rebels. Cook led Lady Rebels with three hits in four at bats. Lady Rebels didn’t commit a single error in the field. Myers had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
Springer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Southridge in hits.
